They Pretty Much Did it All

The Relief Society has been a huge blessing to both the Church and those who have benefited from their charity who are not members of this Church. They accomplish much. In the days of Nauvoo, the Relief Society had no choice but to be assertive in their actions. Many men served missions and so the women had no choice but to step forward. What was one of the functions of the Relief Society during the Nauvoo years of the Church?

a.      Take care of all Church farms and herds

b.      Build houses

c.       Build wagons for the trek west

d.      Act as both home and visiting teacher

Yesterday’s answer:

a.      The White house

Brigham Young moved his own families into the small houses he had built, including his “log row” of several log cabins with an adobe kitchen at one end. He also began work on a permanent residence known as the “White House” on the north side of South Temple Street, east of where his later homes—the Beehive House and the Lion House—would be built.
