The City of Joseph

Nauvoo, Illinois

When was Nauvoo officially honored with the title, “The City of Joseph?”

A)                 1845, prior to the Saint’s exodus to the west

B)                 While Joseph Smith resided in Nauvoo and prior to his death in 1844

C)                 At the time the Church purchased the temple lot

D)                 At the time the Nauvoo Temple was dedicated by President Hinckley

Yesterday’s answer:

(D) Horse radish

The Saints were affected much by scurry, also known as blackleg to the pioneers. They knew that potatoes provided a suitable cure, but also discovered, rather than sending a wagon into Missouri for a load of potatoes, that horseradish, growing naturally near Winter Quarters, was just as effective.
