One Mission with a Dual Purpose

Brigham Young sent First Counselor George A. Smith, Elder Lorenzo Snow, and Albert Carrington to Palestine for two purposes. The first was to rededicate the Holy Land, the second was to do what?
A)                 Learn how to raise olive groves and manufacture olive oil
B)                 Obtain a more correct translation of the Bible than the King James version
C)                 The purchase of land for a future temple
D)                 Determine the possibility of establishing a Mormon colony

Yesterday’s answer:
The following interesting fact from the journal of Joseph Holbrook prior to him joining the Church:
In August 24 [1827] I went to Albany to see a Mr. Strany executed for the murder of a Mr. Whipple of Albany. There was supposed to be 100,000 people who witnessed the execution. The day of pleasant and no accident occurred worthy of notice. I bought some lottery tickets in the amount of about 20 dollars, but only drew six which paid me but poorly for my speculation.
