Yesterday’s answer:
(C)   Placed hot salt on his chest
April 4, 1846. Saturday: This morning all our clothing, beds and bed clothing were drenched with rain and it has continued to rain all day. I have been very sick again especially towards night. I was so distressed with pain it seemed as though I could not live. I went to bed and put a bag of hot salt on my breast which seemed to give me some ease but I suffered much through the night, and it continued to rain until after midnight.
