Following the Prophet

In one of his more incredible prophesies, Joseph Smith stated to Judge Stephen A. Douglas that the day would come when he would aspire to the office of President of the United States. This is true. In 1860 Stephen Douglas was the leader of the Democratic Party and ran for President of the United States. Joseph warned him at the time that if he ever turned his back on the Saints that he would not win. Did Stephen Douglas a.   win

Yesterday’s answer:
a.      A Letter to the Queen
[I] received a letter from Elder Parley P. Pratt, giving a synopsis of his mission to England since August, 1839, in which I find he has published, since April, 1841 1,500
“Hymn Books,” 2,500 “Voice of Warning,” 3,000 tracts, entitled “Heaven on Earth,” 3,000 copies of “Elder Hyde’s Mission to Jerusalem,” 10,000 copies of “A Letter to the Queen,” and some other works, and continued the Star monthly.
