Even before any Elder from the Church touched ground in his nation and even before he was taught the gospel, a Dr. Platino C. Rhodacanaty published an LDS periodical in which country?
C. The Salt Lake Tabernacle
Along with the donation of the projector, the museum received some of the glass slides. One of the slides depicts the inside of the Salt Lake Tabernacle circa 1870. It shows a large water fountain in the middle of the building. Several years ago this slide was taken to the LDS Church Historian’s office where they were allowed to copy it. At the time that this slide was made, the members held fast meetings on Thursday afternoons. When they partook of the sacrament, the cups were filled from this water fountain in the tabernacle.
In the summer, the tabernacle doors were opened, and the breezes blew across the fountain waters, cooling the building. This was probably the first air conditioning in the valley.
