Ute and Shoshoni Indians came to the pioneer camp within three days. Subsequently they came daily in increasing numbers, begging and attempting to trade for guns, ammunition, and clothing. This growing inconvenience was reduced on the second Sunday by adoption of a resolution “to trade no more with the Indians except at their own encampment: and offer no more inducements for subsequent visits of Indians to the pioneer camp.
