The Wild Bird law of 1898 was put in place to do what?
a. Give school boys the right to kill wild birds
b. Protect Seagulls
c. Protect all wild birds
d. Force farmers to leave a portion of their crops unharvested
c. Susa Young Gates
The prominence Gates [Susa Young Gates] knew in Utah extended nationally. When she attended a 1919 suffrage victory convention in Chicago, she claimed to be the oldest voter at the gathering, “Having married at age sixteen and cast her vote in 1872.” Susan B. Anthony, one of the most renowned suffragists of all, and Susa Young Gates were close friends who enjoyed mutual respect while acknowledging limits to their shared activism. When Anthony told Gates she would be made president of the National Council of Women of the United States if she would only drop her militant Mormonism, Gates replied, “Your price is too high.”
