From the life of Isabella Lambert Ayrton: Isabella was born in England in 1800. In the Spring of 1856, Isabella, her son, her married daughter, and daughter’s family left England on the ship “Horizon.” The rest of her family remained in England.
They joined the Hodgett and Hunt wagon train.
Near Devils Gate, Wyoming, Isabella took sick and died where Willow Creek crosses the trail. She was buried in what was called a “wagon rut grave.”
