d. How to read
C The fact that it looked fun
When James and Amy Britnell Loader were baptized near Oxford, England, in the winter of 1850-51, their twenty-three year-old daughter Patience declined to join them because she liked fun, and to her religion seemed “long-faced.” The fourth of the Loaders’ thirteen children, Patience had been working in London for several years at the time her parents were baptized. When she moved closer to home and witnessed the daily lives of Latter-day Saints, she found their way of life attractive. She investigated the Church and was baptized in June 1853.
